Name: Yugiohtep I, aka Yugi Motou Series: Yugioh Original or Alternate: Alternate Age: technically 3017, though physically he is 17; however, he looks 11-12 Gender: Male Species: Human Sexuality: Bisexual
Appearance: Standing at a lowly 4'11, Yugi is a diminuitive person in comparison to most people. His large, bright purple eyes and innocent-looking face tends to get him mistaken for a child a lot. He manages to gain a few inches, however, with his spiky black hair, which is spiked at the end with red. His bangs, for some reason, are hued blonde naturally; no one has quite been able to explain the tri-colored nature of his hair. He will sometimes (or back when he was pharoah, would sometimes) rub oils into his hair in order to dye it all black. His skin is dark tan naturally, though pictures show him as having light skin when he was sharing a body. Though he would normally wear the clothing that his partner and host Yami Motou would wear (which consists of his school uniform with the jacket opened to reveal a black shirt and collar, and a belt to hold his duel deck), at the current moment Yugi is wearing his princely war attire, having gained his own body in the Mamory World as pharoah after the final battle against Zorc Necrophades. He doesn't cut an extremely intimidating figure in his war armor and pharoaic makeup, and in particular his khepresh - his war crown - is rather large and tends to slip over his face. He also carries the crook and flail (symbols of his royal status) a magical armlet which measures and summons the power of a person's ka (roughly equal to the modern Duel Disk's gauge of a monster's lifepoints) and ba (equal to the modern Duel Disk's gauge of a player's lifepoints), and a leather belt with a sword on one side and a dagger on the other (as well as his duel deck belt). He also wears sandals and various trinkets and rings made of precious stones and gold. Most noticeable of his possessions, both intrinsic and otherwise, is the gold upside-down pyramid than hangs from his neck on a metal chain. Oh it is an eye of Wadjet, and it one looks closely one can see thin lines seemingly etched throughout it. He is almost never seen without it, and when he gets angry enough a similar golden eye will flicker and appear on his own forehead. Personality: Optimistic and cheerful, Yugi seems to exude happiness from every pore, or at least seems to attempt to do so. He does his best to be happy for those who are his friends or close to him. He does have bouts of sadness, but he will do his best to hide it when he does, mainly where he is worried that he will once more be left alone or that people will think differently of him because of his past. Of course, being the open-book-type of person he is, it's difficult for him to do hide those feelings, especially from those that he consider his friends. Likewise it is difficult for friends to hide their feelings around him, as Yugi has a great deal of empathy for people in need. Coming from a background that to the modern eye is ancient and seemingly ignorant, Yugi nevertheless enjoys knowledge and is intelligent in his own way apart from playing games and cards. He's inquisitive to a fault, asking how things work, taking things apart and putting them back together (most of the time at least). He also likes talking to people and making friends, having not had many friends in the past and being alone for so long. Most people would take this for granted, but for Yugi, he can't imagine people wanting to intentionally be alone for their whole lives.
Strengths/Abilities: An avid game player, Yugi is not called the King of Games lightly. He almost has never lost a game in 3,000 years due to his uncanny ability to get into the games he plays, to work in tandem with the pieces he is given empathizing with them as if they were actual people, building blocks, all working towards a common goal, that of victory (though he certainly doesn't mind having fun either). This game-playing skill, however honed it is in other games, is most evident when playing the game Magic and Wizards, more commonly known as Duel Monsters. Based on life-and-death games played with the souls of its players in Yugi's own time, known as Shadow Games (which he is also capable of imposing on an opponent through the use of his Millenium Item), he is considered the best duelist in the world. Though he attributes a great deal of his success to his partner and host body Yami Motou there is no doubt that Yugi is simply being modest (and genuinely so, incredibly enough) towards the fact he is capable of destroying his opponents through the use of whatever deck is given to him and the strategies tied to it. Of course, just naming the cards in his deck is enough to make some opponents think twice about dueling him, not in the least because it includes the three Egyptian God cards - it also includes cards such as the Black Magician (whose spirit is also now Yugi's companion, his "duel spirit", so to speak), the Black Magician Girl, and the seemingly innocuous yet dreaded card known as Kuriboh. He also carries with him the Millennium Pyramid, known better as the Millennium Puzzle, which grants its user power over darkness and an aspect of the human spirit. As with all of the Items, Yugi is given the ability to manipulate shadows, impose Shadow Games and, unique to his Item, impose Penalty Games on opponents who break the rules and try cheating. Almost always the penalty games involve purifying the darkness of the cheater's mind and soul, which can be a very long, painful and even fatal process; many of those with penalty games imposed upon them go through periods of madness, and some have never become sane again. The Pyramid's main realm of power is that of memory; hence with the Pyramid Yugi is capable of manipulating memories, as well as gaining access and entering a person's soul room, which contains the essence of a person's mind and spirit. Also with the Pyramid, he is capable of negating the specific given powers of other Millennium Items on him, and on others, though the latter takes more power to accomplish. As a prince of Egypt, Yugi was shown how to wield edged weapons, and thus has a proficiency in using swords and daggers - a thought overlooked by many who consider the boy either too weak or too reluctant to use one. In fact, Yugi will usually try and use his blades before anything else in a battle that doesn't involve cards or games. Yugi is also an emphatic character, able to relate to people and experiences, and especially those who have suffered from memory problems or memory loss. There have been times (most likely due to the Pyramid's influence) where he can actually sense that a person is amnesiac or under a spell that represses memories. Items/Weapons: The Millennium Pyramid/Puzzle: The Millennium Puzzle is one of the seven Millennium Items created by the Unnamed Pharoah; all of them have basic power over darkness and dark ka, but each have different abilities regarding their control over the human psyche, such as mind control, soul room possession, or granting prophetic sight. The Pyramid, which was the heirloom passed through the Pharoahs of the Nameless Pharoah's line, controls the realm of memory - with it the user can enter a person's soul room (much like with the Millennium Ankh, but unlike the Ankh the user of the Pyramid does not necessarily need to touch their victim) and purify, manipulate, resurrect, erase, cloud and even create new memories. The Pyramid is arguably the most powerful item, as it is capable of negating the powers of all of the other Items. However, it usage has several different drawbacks and can be easily shattered on a sufficiently hard surface and disassembled. When this happens Yugi must reassemble it, which can take several hours due to the complexity of the Puzzle. The God Deck: Yugi's deck is an extremely powerful Strategy deck, which is backed up by five of the most powerful cards in Duel Monsters: Three of these cards are the well-known Egyptian Gods - Sky Dragon of Osiris, Winged Dragon of Ra and Great God Soldier Obelisk, are powerful in their own right. Usually these cards are sufficient to fill most opponents with fear and doubt, as only few card players have ever been able to control the effects of the Egyptian God Cards. However, Yugi received two special cards, one fashioned for his deck by Pegasus based on his adventures in the Memory World, the other which was created directly through the power of the Gods in the Memory World: Cartouche of Eternal Memories and the fusion card it summons, the being known as Horakhty, God of Light. Horakhty is a Special Summon with infinite attack and defense points and is impervious to all spells, traps and effects, making it, without a doubt, the strongest card ever created, as well as the most dangerous. In Yugi's universe, as a result, the summoning is complicated; it requires the activation of Cartouche of Eternal Memories, which can only be activated by reciting Yugi's full name, and the discarding of all three Egyptian Gods (which must all be in play or all in the graveyard at the time the Cartouche is activated), in order for it to come into play. Because of its nature and the specific summoning requirements, Yugi very rarely uses these two cards in his deck, save for emergency situations. Sword and dagger: Yugi carries an khopesh - the ancient Egyptian version of the modern scimitar - on his belt. It is a light-weight seapon made of bronze, strengthened with iron and inlaid with gold on the blade. The hilt is made of ebony wood, with striped gold inlays. The dagger is made in a similar way to Yugi's sword, the main differences being that the blade is straight and is also much shorter, and it has a full leather scabbard to hold it. It's similar to a modern stiletto in its make, but like the sword it was dulled upon Yugi's arrival to Econtra. Weaknesses: Yugi's most potent weakness is his ignorance of the past 3,000 years. He had very rarely been given the chance to go out and experience the wide world until he was separated from Yami, and thus his knowledge of the modern world is limited to things connected to dueling, such as Duel Disks. Science, technology, knowledge in general for Yugi is thus limited to dueling and the knowledge of ancient Egypt. In this way Yugi is at a complete disadvantage, and couple with his desired to learn what the world is like in the present, can be misled into thinking the wrong things as being true if done by the right person. His normally happy-go-lucky nature also tends to pejudice people into thinking he's a complete pushover. His diminutive stature is also a liability, so Yugi tends to experience a good degree of ageism (even though he's basically an adult) among everything else. His reluctance to use the full power of the Pyramid/Puzzle or his deck, especially now that he is no longer a spirit without memories, also is in many ways a hinderance, as he is unwilling to hurt people recklessly if he can avoid it. Several of his cards are capable of seriously injuring and even killing people if they are used improperly or casually, a chance he's not willing to take. He is especially hesitant to use the memory powers of his Item, even if it would be beneficial, as he remembers his own experiences and is afraid to impose the same on others. The Pyramid itself has many drawbacks. While his Item is the strongest, being the Item of the Pharoah's line, the Pyramid cannot negate a Shadow Game in process, alter or reverse the terms of a Shadow Game that is in process, or reverse the outcome of a Shadow Game. (i.e. If someone were to, for example, take the soul of his host's grandfather as the price for losing a Shadow Game Yugi can't just automatically use the Pyramid to get the soul back. Not that that's ever happened of course). He also cannot reverse the effects of a Penalty Game he has imposed on someone. And when the Puzzle is shattered or taken apart, he is unable to access its powers unless and until the Puzzle is put back together again; losing a piece would be catastrophic for Yugi.
